The Governance Analyst position is a critical interlink between Risk, QC, Training, Operations and Sales.  This position will be responsible for developing and monitoring the SLA/KPI used to determine the efficiency of multiple areas of PHL. Instrumental in building the controls associated with each of the process areas, and creating or enhancing reporting for Senior Management, the Governance Analyst will be the early identifier for areas of concern and will work with the business directly to develop action plans to correct issues and avoid potential degradation of quality.  The Governance Analyst will also identify and build action plans for correction internally recognized concerns, and aid in audit efforts, including findings analysis and remediation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop controls for operations, sales and servicing processes.  Build analysis and reporting structure for each, monitoring trends and actions plans.
  • Work closely with business to obtain adherence to controls and processes, helping to develop the actions plans for issue remediation for audit items and internally recognized concerns.
  • Monitor SLA/KPI for trends and issues, developing new indicators as needed.
  • Prepare findings and analysis for review by Senior Management.
  • Work with QC and Risk to analyze and respond to investor or regulatory concerns.
  • Work with Legal, Compliance and Training to ensure adequate knowledge sharing with business partners is in place.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience with High School Diploma
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Mortgage or Financial Services
  • Minimum of 5 years in Governance, QC analysis and Compliance
  • Extensive working knowledge of mortgage products and processes
  • Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to mortgage lending such as RESPA and TRID
  • Working knowledge of agency, non-conforming (e.g. jumbo, non-QM), FHA and VA guidelines
  • Effective interpersonal skills including both written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality and risk awareness
  • Experience working with online technology and web-based tools
  • Well organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects and issues in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Can work independently and also work very well with others in a collaborative work environment
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office products) and experience with mortgage loan origination systems
  • Ability to work flexible and varying work schedules to meet the needs of the business, including travel
